PITTSBURGH (Feb. 6, 2023) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC is rolling out a unique entertainment schedule for its 2023 home matches, with theme nights, special appearances, giveaways and value promotions lined up for an exciting season at Highmark Stadium, as the Hounds proudly bring affordable, family entertainment alongside a world-class soccer experience.
Summer of Soccer heats up
With 12 home matches from May 13 to August 12, this season will be the busiest summer yet at Highmark Stadium. Special events will include three Family Fiesta Nights on May 13, June 24 and July 26; to-be-announced appearances and autograph sessions with Pittsburgh sports celebrities on May 20, July 8 and Aug. 12; and giveaways like a limited-edition stadium replica, AMO bobblehead, schedule magnets, and team blankets on March 24, June 10, July 15 and Aug. 5. Topping it all off is the the return of the always-popular pregame $1 beer special for three select Saturday nights — June 3, July 1 and July 29 – giving fans a perfect way to cool off during the Summer of Soccer.
Big City Lights & Halftime Stars
The season opener on Friday, March 24 against Miami will be one of two matches to feature a Post-Match Laser Show, a visual treat for all ages underneath the backdrop of the Downtown Pittsburgh skyline. The second laser show is scheduled for Saturday, July 1, after the highly anticipated match against Louisville. The Hounds will also be welcoming national touring halftime entertainers to Highmark Stadium, including XPogo on June 3 and the Zooperstars on July 29.
Themes Nights for Everyone
Some of the Hounds’ most popular theme nights of seasons past remain part of the schedule, with some new ones mixed in, such as a one-of-a-kind Yinzer Night on Saturday, April 15. That includes a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the first match at Highmark Stadium, which opened for its first Hounds match on April 13, 2013, and a special Pittsburgh celebrity appearance. Other big nights to watch include Pride Night on June 3, Throwback Night on Aug. 5, Hispanic Heritage Night on Sept. 23 and Fan Appreciation night for the home finale on Sept. 30, along with others still to be added.
Changemakers Series
One of the newest Hounds initiatives this year will be its Changemakers series, a special opportunity to recognize people around the club and the Pittsburgh area at-large who are making a difference in our community. More about the new initiative, including the theme for its inaugural year, will be announced prior to the first Changemakers night, scheduled for May 13.
Get in the Action
This season, the Riverhounds will introduce a variable pricing model for their single-game tickets, highlighting marquee matches on the schedule while offering fans discounted rates for select matches throughout the season. Single-game tickets will go on sale this Friday, Feb. 10, and prices start as low as $18 for general admission.
