PITTSBURGH (April 1, 2024) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC again will honor people making a difference in the community with the return of the Change Makers series, presented by Allegheny Health Network.
This year’s Change Makers theme is “Kids in the Community,” as the Hounds will recognize youth who have gone above and beyond with service and charitable works in the Western Pennsylvania region. The Hounds and AHN will host the honorees at the team’s home match against Louisville City FC on Wednesday, June 19, when they will be recognized on the field and will get to enjoy the game with their families and friends from the AHN suite.
“We are excited to be part of celebrating Pittsburgh’s youth who are leading the charge in helping their fellow neighbors and communities in innovative and meaningful ways,” said Kenya T. Boswell, senior vice president of community affairs at Highmark Health. “Our communities grow stronger when we are there for one another, and these students are a shining example of that.”
Nominations for this year’s Change Makers are being accepted now through May 19; to nominate yourself or someone else, click here to use the online submission form. This year’s nominees for Kids in the Community must be no older than 18 years of age, and a portion of the proceeds generated from the program will benefit the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh.
This is the second year of the Change Makers program, which successfully launched last year with four honorees celebrated as part of the “Winning Women” theme.
